Purple, Rock, Scissors is supporting a leading consumer technology company in hiring for a Senior Staff Product Designer. They’re rethinking renting from the ground up, weaving AI through the entire journey: agentic search, personalized matching, and guidance a renter can trust. The design vision unifies the user and partner experience around personalization, trust, and AI-powered guidance. They need a Senior Staff designer to shape how that intelligence shows up, move at their pace, and raise the bar. This is a maker's seat: pick the problems worth solving, design and prototype the answer, hand engineering something production-ready, and get the company excited about it. They care less about where you trained than what you have built.

Logistics: Full-time, direct-hire role. Fully remote (Canada or US); Canadian work authorization required or USC/GC.

What you'll be doing: Own problems end to end. Take a vague prompt, decide what is actually worth building, and carry it to a shipped experience. You define the work, not just the pixels. Design fast, then build it. Prototype quickly and hand engineering production-ready front-end work they can review and ship, not rebuild. You own the last 10 percent; they own architecture, performance, and the merge. Treat quality as the point. Sweat the states, the motion, and the paper cuts, and pull the design system forward as you go. Push the direction. Bring a real point of view on where the product should head, grounded in renters, data, and taste, and get partners aligned behind it. Make the team better. Raise the craft bar through critique and mentoring, and close every loop you open. Nothing sits at 80 percent. You’ll support the core product which has 4 pillars - You will float within the core and the pillars and execute on the product design. Teaming up with 2-3 product managers on big rocks, small rocks, band aids, working through features, with light touch on product strategy. You will be living in Figma and Cursor as a deep collaborator.

Qualifications: 7-10+ years of experience as an execution focused Product Designer 2-3+ years of experience at the Staff or Senior Staff Product Designer level Figma is an extension of your hand: auto layout, components, variables, and design systems are reflexes. Your prototyping, interaction, and motion are what others copy. You build with AI and can prove it: shipped real work with tools like Cursor and Claude Code, a point of view on AI-native patterns, and you fold new tools in the week they land. You make the work loud: keep cross-functional partners close, share process and wins early and often, and tell a story that moves a room. You run on agency: ask for a goal and context, then go, and make the calls on how to get there. You answer to the renter: know them deeply through qualitative and quantitative research, and let that shape every decision. Excellent communication and design advocate with the ability to communicate to design and non-design stakeholders

Preferred Skills: Designed a consumer product at real scale, ideally a two-sided marketplace Taken a side project from idea to launch on your own Visual design skills is always a plus (Type, layout, corner radius) Immaculate attention to detail
