Position Description

The Research Assistant will support the Clinical Research Project Coordinator and research team in carrying out clinical studies in the Department of Otolaryngology. The primary focus of this role is to assist with patient recruitment and enrollment, as well as provide support for study-related activities including data collection, preparation of research materials, and maintenance of study records.

Here's What You'll Get To Do:

  • Assist with identifying and recruiting eligible patients for clinical research studies.
  • Provide patients and families with study information and obtain consent under supervision.
  • Support the preparation and organization of study documents, binders, and promotional materials.
  • Assist with scheduling study visits and coordinating logistics with clinical teams.
  • Conduct or assist with patient interviews and surveys as required by study protocols.
  • Support data collection, entry, and quality control.
  • Maintain research charts and ensure study documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Help with literature searches and preparation of presentations or reports.
  • Participate in team meetings and departmental rounds to enhance knowledge of study processes.
  • Collaborate with research staff, trainees, and volunteers as needed.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health sciences or related discipline (or current enrollment in such a program).
  • Prior research experience is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Comfort interacting with patients and families in a clinical environment.
