The Opportunity: Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has new exciting opportunities for two Electrical Foreperson’s at the Red Chris Mine in northern British Columbia. Working a FIFO rotation of 14-shifts on and 14-shifts off. The Electrical Foreperson will be responsible for the safety, leadership, and day-to-day management of underground electricians, while supporting the maintenance and development of critical underground infrastructure. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Comply with and enforce all safety standards and standard operating procedures. Direct and mentor the underground electricians, providing daily task guidance and coaching for continuous improvement. Plan, schedule, and monitor electrical work activities for crews. Support the mining group to ensure minimal downtime of equipment and mine services. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of underground and surface tele-remoting operations for equipment (scoops and Sandvik Multilite systems). Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Superintendent to manage costs, improve processes, and support operational excellence. Work in partnership with client counterparts on electrical projects throughout the mine. Assist in electrical reticulation design for operating levels, including installation of Splitter boxes, PTOs, and pump starters Perform high voltage (HV) cable terminations and splicing. Assist in the rigging and slinging of heavy electrical components. Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical sketches. Ensure compliance with all legislation and safety regulations related to electrical work. Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Strong knowledge of standard practices, materials, and electrical processes used in underground mining development. Extensive experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of underground electrical systems and machinery, including PLC systems; Cable installations; Work platforms; Transformer setups; Ventilation fans; Pumps and dewatering systems; Maintenance of Sandvik Automine Scoops and Sandvik Development/Production drills Knowledge and hands-on experience in low, medium, and high voltage installations. Skilled in HV cable termination and splicing. Competent in rigging and slinging heavy components safely. Strong planning, scheduling, and crew management abilities. Ability to mentor, train, and encourage employees. High level of computer literacy, with proficiency in spreadsheets, business systems, and email communications. Ability to multi-task and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Respectful and inclusive of cultural differences in a diverse workplace. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) certification 7 to 10 years’ experience working in an underground mine Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role Experience working with high voltage electric mining equipment and underground electrical reticulation Be knowledgeable with Canadian and British Columbia Provincial Electrical Code as well as the CSA M421-00 codes related to underground mining Strong communication, organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently with limited supervision while still being a contributing member of a team Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment WORKING CONDITIONS Frequently walk, climb, and navigate uneven, confined, and wet underground surfaces Access active mining areas using ladders, stairs, and mobile equipment Work in low-light conditions and varying temperatures Work in environments with dust, noise, vibration, and exposure to heavy equipment Wear required PPE, including hard hat, respirator (if required), hearing protection, and fall protection Sit for extended periods while completing reports, planning work, and communicating via computer systems What we offer: Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. provides a challenging and rewarding work environment where your skills and experience are valued.
