**Location:**210 Princes’ Blvd. (Onsite, No Remote Work)

**Schedule:**Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

  • April 20th, 2026 – June 19th, 2026 – 3 days a week
  • June 22nd, 2026 – August 21st, 2025 – 5 days a week
  • August 4th – September 11th – 5 to 6 days a week
  • Flexibility Required, Weekends & Evenings during CNE (August 21st - September 7th)

Pay Rate:$20.40/ hr

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Sports and Attractions Program Manager, the Programs Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of Sports and Attractions programming at the CNE. This role assists the Programs team with contracts, staff recruitment and supervision, work orders, move-in and move-out operations, event planning, coordination of third-party program providers, and oversight of key program areas such as the Gaming Garage, Kids’ World, and other Sports and Attractions initiatives during the Fair

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Providing program support for Sports and Attractions with a focus on key activations including
    • Gaming Garage – an interactive gaming and technology space featuring organized gaming activities and tournaments
  • Kids’ World – a family-focused area offering stage shows, workshops, and free-play activities
  • Additional Sports and Attractions programming as assigned
  • Assisting with the recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and day-to-day management of fair staff during the 18-day event
  • Acting as a liaison between the CNE and sponsors, vendors, and other third-party partners
  • Assisting with the procurement, tracking, and reconciliation of equipment and supplies
  • Supporting all aspects of program planning and implementation while collaborating with internal CNE departments
  • Coordinating logistics including hotel bookings, delivery schedules, parking and admission pass allocation, and the collection of required documentation from partners and vendors
  • Assisting with move-in, set-up, daily operations, troubleshooting, and move-out of program areas
  • Supporting the planning and execution of in-house activations, including developing operational procedures and coordinating logistical requirements
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid G2 or G driver’s license required
  • Full availability required during the CNE (August 4 – September 11), including evenings, weekends, and holidays, including Labour Day
  • Education and/or experience in event management, recreation, entertainment, or a related field considered an asset
  • Experience supervising or leading teams, preferably in an event, festival, or public programming environment
  • Experience supporting the planning, coordination, or operation of interactive exhibits, activations, or public-facing programs considered an asset
  • Interest in gaming, technology, or interactive entertainment preferred for those supporting the Gaming Garage
  • Experience or interest in working with children and families preferred for those supporting Kids’ World
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, vendors, and partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to multitask effectively and manage competing deadlines
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in busy, high-volume environments with crowds, noise, and bright lighting
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to safely lift and move equipment and materials as required
