Our Papa's Pub and Pizzeria is located in a beautiful town of Port Hawkesbury. Our wait staff is attentive and polite and our atmosphere is warm and inviting. We look forward to serving you and making your dining experience a memorable one.
We are looking for an experienced, professional and reliable Line Cook to perform duties outlined below. This is a full-time position, not less than minimum of 30 hours per week, job is non-seasonal, with salary starting from $16.50 per hour. The candidate MUST have 1 or more years of related work experience (e.g. line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook), commensurate with the job posting requirements and qualifications.
Line Cook Job Responsibilities
- Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
- Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
- Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
- Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
- Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
Work Hours: Day, Evening, Morning, Night
Line Cook Qualifications/Skills
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
- Ability to work as a team member
- Follows directions and instructions
- Ensure to be neat ,professional ,hygienic at all times and meet necessary requirements.
- Assist other cooks with tasks as needed to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Education And Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One to two years of restaurant experience and/or a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
- Certificate in Culinary Arts is an asset, but not required.
- Experience with various cooking methods and procedures.
- Familiar with restaurant industry best practices also an asset.
