The City of Kenora is looking for students for summer employment! This position will be the first point of contact for visitors at the Travel Centre or downtown Pavilion and will be responsible for greeting visitors in a friendly, professional manner and providing accurate and detailed information about local attractions, accommodations, and events in the Kenora area. In addition, they will manage information hot lines, maintain tourism statistics, and answer phone inquiries. This position will also assist with event set up, maintenance and take down as required.
Qualifications:

Must be a full-time student in the 2025-26 school year and be returning to school full-time for the 2026-27 school season

Good knowledge and appreciation of the City of Kenora, specifically its history, attractions, events, and accommodations

Cash handling and report writing experience would be an asset

Must be available to attend and complete mandatory safety training and orientation

Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft applications

Possess good communication skills with ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with the public with tact and diplomacy

Possess a valid driver’s license (minimum G2) in good standing is required

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
-
Valid standard First Aid or AED training would be an asset
Hours: 40 hours per week, including weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays.
Rate: $19.33/hr
Students will be required to provide the City with a clean vulnerable sector criminal record check and proof of enrolment if successful in a summer position with the City of Kenora.
