EIPS is recruiting 9 full-time Teachers for Elementary Schools within Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan and the Rural North-East (Lamont, Mundare, Bruderheim and Vegreville)

Join a dedicated pool of educators serving Elk Island Public Schools, where you will be assigned to a specific school for the 2026-27 school year to provide consistent support for students with complex learning needs. These newly created positions, supported by Alberta Government classroom complexity funding, provide enhanced resources and stability for both students and teachers in high-needs environments. The teachers may work in a complex team supported by two educational assistants.

  • Provide in class support for diverse student needs for the across the school

  • The teacher is not assigned to their own classroom

  • Support a push in and/or pull out model

  • Real time, responsive support

  • Respond to urgent behavioural, academic or mental-health needs

  • One to one behavioural or safety interventions

  • Individual and small group programming

  • Flexes between student support and in class support Responsible for school level reporting and documentation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education degree

  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

  • Effective organization and classroom management skills

  • Ability to create a learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

  • Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice

  • Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
