Job Summary
United Safety is currently looking for H2S Technician based out ofGrande Prairie,Fort St. JohnandEdmonton.
The H2S Technician position is responsible for and fulfills all H2S related technical work activities required on customers’ worksites. These activities are conducted in a variety of Energy Industry upstream environments, during well drilling, servicing, and completions operations. This position executes site specific duties and tasks while ensuring compliance with United Safety quality, health, safety, and environmental policies & procedures to meet or exceed customer expectations. The H2S Technician ensures equipment is transported, installed, inspected, tested, placed, maintained, and deinstalled in accordance with the customer’s and United Safety’s procedures. In addition, the H2S Technician completes hazard assessments, conducts drills, supports in emergency response & first responder situations, performs lease control, and
provides safety equipment, refresher training.
This position can require you to be away from home in hotels or camps, working in the outdoors, travelling on oilfield roads, and the potential for working long shifts. United Safety provides breathing air, gas detection and emergency response services in the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream sectors of the Oil & Gas Industry.
You should enjoy physical work and be comfortable being away from home for long periods of time in a hotel or camp situation. You are diligent, attentive and can work as an effective team player. You must be able to communicate clearly and calmly when faced with adverse situations.
Job Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the customer representative to ensure effective deployment of United Safety equipment and participate in the planning & implementation of emergency response plans, standbys, safety equipment refresher training, and drills as well as conduct portable gas detection and first responder duties as required

Install, commission, decommission, and deinstall breathing air equipment & systems, gas detection systems, and auxiliary equipment (guard shacks, signage, windsocks, barricades) including conducting inventory counts, loading, and transporting equipment to and from site as well as completing all necessary documentation and forms

Operate and ensure functionality and operational readiness of deployed equipment & testing systems to ensure response quality.

Protect, inspect, test, and troubleshoot company equipment by evaluating equipment
condition and conducting function tests as well as disassembling & reassembling, cleaning,
and disinfecting while following maintenance standards and original equipment manufacturer specifications in accordance with United Safety PMITP procedures.

Complete and submit all required documentation and paperwork including but not limited to daily operations summaries, daily cost reporting, field ticket billing, installation & commissioning forms, and inspection & test forms
Requirements
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Local candidates within Grande Prairie, Fort St. John BC and Edmonton area
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License (Non GDLs) and can present a clean Driver's Abstract (at least 3years)
- Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Possess current H2S Alive, 2-day Standard First Aid, and Common Safety Orientations (CSO) safety tickets
- Able to successfully complete specialized 6-8 days of paid training by United Safety
