About the role
As the Head Housekeeper you will be responsible for supervising the work
activities of housekeepers to ensure the overall cleanliness of the facility.
You will also take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new employees
and recommend dismissal.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Help organize projects under the direction of the Supervisor(s) or Manager.
- Manage room bookings and room assignments.
- Order, monitor and receive housekeeping supplies according to weekly quota sheets.
- Clean and maintain areas such as floors, stairways, and carpets by performing tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, shampooing, dry/wet mopping, auto scrubbing, and floor refinishing which includes stripping, sealing, floor finish application and polishing.
- Attend in-services, departmental meetings, and education programs such as WHMIS, Standard Precautions, and Infection Control as required to keep current with housekeeping technology, practices, safety issues, and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain related equipment by cleaning, lubricating and replacing items such as filters, vacuum bags and belts. Reports any noticeable maintenance problems or safety hazards to Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Follow required cleaning procedures for terminal and isolation cleaning and hazardous spills. Completes task sheets and /or discusses any concerns, issues with immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
- 2 years of housekeeping experience and/or training in custodial work is required.
- 1 year of experience in leading or supervising the activities of other staff preferred.
- Demonstrated ability and desire to lead and train a team.
- Calm and clear thinking ability to handle problems or crisis in a highly professional manner.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Perform work well with accuracy, speed and attention to detail.
- Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Clear and thorough communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions thoroughly and work with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job, including requirements to lift up to 20 pounds.
Position Requirements
- Shift: 12hr/Day
- Rotation: 20 Days On/ 10 Days Off
- Local applicants preferred

The hourly wage for this position is $23.00. Final compensation will be
determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards offerings will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role.
