Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic, self starter to join our outside sales team. The Sales Development Representative is a key member of the Sales Development Department, collaborating closely with the Sales Team and Distribution Team to identify and capitalize on business opportunities that align with company objectives. They are responsible for cultivating relationships with customers, implementing strategic territory plans, expanding sales networks, and leveraging company systems to manage and grow accounts effectively. This role requires proactive engagement with customers to drive growth in existing accounts while identifying and developing new opportunities to achieve sales targets

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Planning and Strategy

  • Collaborate with management to update territory plans and set sales goals.
  • Identify sales opportunities for new and existing customers through research, observation, and inquiries.
  • Develop and implement strategic territory plans to achieve growth targets.
  • Gather and analyze competitive and market information to inform strategic decisions.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure long-term satisfaction.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction trends and address concerns proactively.
  • Assist clients with special requests, resolve complaints, and provide necessary information.
  • Conduct site visits to support client services and assess customer needs.

Sales Execution and Growth

  • Grow the account base through effective cross-selling and up-selling strategies.
  • Recommend tailored product solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms to ensure both customer satisfaction and transaction profitability.
  • Prepare and present accurate and compelling sales quotations.

Operational Coordination

  • Communicate demand fluctuations to the purchasing department.
  • Monitor customer credit status and ensure alignment with company requirements.
  • Stay informed of local codes, industry trends, and consumer preferences.

Compliance and Professional Development

  • Adhere to Quality, Health and Safety requirements, company policies, and ISO standards.

  • Apply product knowledge to enhance sales performance and professionalism.

  • Remain current with industry changes and continuously improve personal sales expertise.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven success in achieving sales goals and growing sales- 5+ years preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software. Experience with Microsoft Nav or Business Central considered an asset.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on relationship building.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in sales strategies and techniques.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sales operations, logistics, and policies.
  • Strong risk management and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and listening abilities.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in business mathematics, including basic algebra and calculating ratios.
  • High integrity and strong accountability in handling confidential information.
  • Results-driven attitude with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
