- Provide technical oversight and approval of engineering designs, plans, and reports.
- Negotiate and execute complex servicing agreements with developers, ensuring alignment with municipal objectives.
- Act as the primary liaison between City departments, developers, consultants, and provincial agencies.
- Represent the City in stakeholder meetings, resolving development-related challenges with diplomacy and expertise.
- Mentor and provide leadership to junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of innovation and professional growth. What You Bring:
- Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure design and development servicing
- Demonstrated ability to manage infrastructure projects, budgets, and timelines
- Analytical problem-solving skills with sound engineering judgment
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to lead teams, foster collaboration, and resolve challenges constructively
- Understanding of municipal bylaws, development processes, and regulatory frameworks
- Experience working in or alongside unionized environments is an asset
- Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic project environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Applied Science degree in a relevant engineering discipline
Minimum five (5) years of recent related experience in municipal or development engineering
Membership or eligibility for immediate membership as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a temporary full-time position for approximately two (2) years. The term may be shortened or extended depending on operational needs. The City of Maple Ridge is located on the traditional territory of the Kwantlen and Katzie First Nations north of the Fraser River between the Pitt River and Stave Falls in the shadow of the Golden Ears Mountain.
