Role
As the Director, Digital Delivery Portfolio, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of digital media in Canada. Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations and Digital Delivery Portfolio, you will orchestrate a dynamic collaboration with Digital Media leadership, key business units across Radio-Canada and your counterparts at CBC.
Your primary mission will be to oversee our portfolio of digital programs and initiatives, ensuring they are perfectly aligned with our strategic ambitions. You will act as an architect of change, exploring the possibilities presented by artificial intelligence (AI) while leveraging agile and project management methodologies to maximize value and impact. Your expertise in continuous improvement will be vital for optimizing budget management, boosting performance, enhancing efficiency and ensuring the quality of our services.
You will lead a team of over 30 passionate professionals, including executives, project managers and business analysts, inspiring them to achieve excellence. Your sharp analytical mind and strategic judgment will enable you to navigate complex challenges, formulate impactful recommendations and make decisions that will drive the future of our component and the organization as a whole.
You will also ensure that relevant updates on project progress are shared with leadership teams and all other stakeholders.
You will also:
- Support a project and program management and governance structure, ensuring alignment with evolving product lines and cross-functional initiatives.
- Instil a culture of continuous improvement by developing and refining our processes.
- Manage a strategic portfolio of project and program management services for Digital Media, from initial analysis through to execution and delivery.
- Generate regular reports, including performance indicators and metrics, executive summaries and other ad hoc reports.
- Work closely with the Finance and Operations team.
- Provide close oversight of initiative and program budgets and costs, including the precise allocation of resources.
- Proactively evaluate shifting functional needs, resource capacity constraints, risk management and interdependencies.
- Manage and develop the talent of our project managers and business analysts across the organization.
- Serve as a key change management agent, facilitating the adoption of rapid changes in the media landscape.
- Communicate the status of the project and program portfolio to all stakeholders in business units.
- Ensure business objective delivery and service quality excellence.
This position is based in Montreal.
What You Bring
- Proven track record of success leading a similar digital development operation in a large organization.
- Master’s degree in project management.
- At least 10 years’ experience in project/product management, including leading teams and managing personnel.
- Project management and agile certification desirable.
- Agile coaching experience an asset.
- Experience integrating AI tools.
- Experience coaching teams using Lean and/or Kanban methodologies an asset.
- At least 10 years’ experience with Agile and team collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence or another relevant tool.
- Significant breadth of knowledge and understanding in key areas of digital project development, such as architecture, strategy and creation, application development and operations support.
- Exceptional organizational skills to effectively juggle multiple priorities, respond to urgent requests and meet tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to make strategic decisions, especially for high-level planning.
- Recognized communicator, leader and engager.
- Strong engagement and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and French (spoken and written).
- In-depth knowledge of the media industry, especially the digital sector.
- Availability for occasional travel across Canada.
