Distribution Centre (DC) Supervisor About The Role We have an immediate opening for a full-time Monday-Friday afternoon shift Western Distribution Centre (WDC) Supervisor . As the Western Distribution Centre (WDC) Supervisor, you will provide outstanding service to MEC internal and external partners by leading by example and providing a positive contribution to the DC.
You’ll work with an inclusive, hands-on, collaborative group that connects people with quality products to encourage active outdoor lives. You’ll always be learning, and there’s a good chance your co-workers will inspire you to try something new, like riding in a Fondo, bouldering or paddle boarding.
Please note that this position is 100% on-site.
What You Do
- Cross train in all DC functions to support the team
- Create DC staff workload based on expected SLAs and arrange staffing levels based on volume fluctuations
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external partners
- Promote a safe, secure place to work, ensuring heath and safety policies are being followed
- Promote open communication, teamwork and employee engagement
- Ensure best practices for efficiency and quality are being followed by staff
- Lead and collaborate on continuous improvement projects
- Attend and lead daily start up crew meetings
- Opening and closing of the DC; ensure the building is secure at all times
- Additional administrative functions that may be required
What You Bring
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a warehouse or distribution centre
- Strong leadership abilities – You’re generous with your knowledge and inspire your team members to grow
- Shift flexibility – must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends
- You are mechanically oriented
- You can handle numerous projects at the same time, while keeping cool
- Savviness with WMS systems, Microsoft 365, Excel, Teams, Word and Outlook
- Great communication skills – you listen first and then share knowledge. This goes for both speaking and writing
- You always dot your i’s and cross your t’s
- You’re stoked on something – you love to build trails, log miles or get outside
