About the role
Enedym
Enedym is at the forefront of revolutionizing electric propulsion systems. The company specializes in developing next generation switched reluctance motors (SRMs) that eliminate the need for rare earth metals, significantly reducing costs and enhancing supply chain stability. At its core, Enedym is driven by a vision to transform the electric motor industry through innovation, cost reduction, and environmental responsibility.
Position Summary
Enedym is seeking a highly motivated Vehicle Integration Engineer to join our electrified vehicle development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the integration, testing, and validation of electric and hybrid vehicle prototype systems — including propulsion, energy storage, power electronics, thermal management, and control systems.
This role is hands-on and multidisciplinary, requiring strong fundamentals in mechanical, electrical, and control systems engineering, along with the ability to work across functional teams to deliver prototype vehicles from concept to test-ready condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support the integration of electrified powertrain systems into prototype and low-volume vehicles.
- Develop and execute system integration plans, including electrical, mechanical, and software interfaces.
- Integrate and test software-controlled subsystems such as traction inverters, battery management systems (BMS), DC/DC converters, onboard chargers, and VCU/ECU networks.
- Support the commissioning, calibration, and validation of vehicle systems.
- Develop and maintain system schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation.
- Contribute to the development of control strategies, diagnostic logic, and fault management routines.
- Support software flashing, calibration, and debugging using CAN-based tools (Vector CANape/CANalyzer, ETAS INCA, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, communication, and performance issues during integration and testing.
- Contribute to vehicle-level functional safety reviews and design-for-safety processes.
- Plan and participate in prototype builds, instrumentation setup, and test events.
- Ensure compliance with high-voltage safety and functional safety standards.
- Interface with suppliers, vendors, and external engineering partners as needed.
- Provide feedback and lessons learned to improve future vehicle architectures and development processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering.
- Solid understanding of electric powertrain components (motors, inverters, batteries, chargers, DC/DC converters).
- Strong understanding of embedded control systems, communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and vehicle network architectures.
- Experience with CAN-based communication, calibration tools (e.g., Vector CANape/CANalyzer, ETAS INCA), and diagnostic systems.
- Proficient in reading and generating electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Comfortable with hands-on work including wiring, mechanical assembly, and instrumentation setup.
- Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or C for control or test automation tasks.
- Familiar with high-voltage safety standards and working practices.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced prototype environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with low-volume or prototype vehicle builds.
- Knowledge of model-based design and controls development.
- Knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage distribution design, including grounding and EMI mitigation.
- Familiarity with test automation, data logging, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems.
- Familiarity with thermal system integration (coolant loops, chillers, heat exchangers).
- Exposure to functional safety (ISO 26262) and high-voltage safety practices.
- Basic programming or scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, C).
