Title:Logistics Coordinator
Location:700 Ormont Drive, North York, M9L 2V4 - Onsite
Shift time:8:00am to 4:00pm
Position Status:Perm Full-time

Position Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring efficient end-to-end flow of materials from suppliers to customers, supporting both inbound and outbound logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all logistics functions including compliance with legislation, carrier / driver efficiency by coordinating transportation for local inbound and outbound orders as well as overseas imports and exports
- Communicate with customers and carriers to ensure that freight is scheduled in a timely and commercially efficient manner
- Maintain the Shipping/Receiving schedule up to date
- Prepare documentations such as pick lists, bills of ladings, custom invoices and shipping orders while maintaining open orders with priority of the purchase contract
- Record/log customs information for inbound logistics and C-TPAT seal designations
- Prepare and maintain online bookings and schedules for inbound and outbound ocean and road freight
- Dispatch freight and contact carrier representatives to plan and issue shipping and delivery instructions
- Collaborate with appropriate departments to ensure booked orders are accurate with relevant paperwork and are following organisational standards and ensuring that deadlines are met
- Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and/or the prices of consumables to keep costs down where possible
- Make certain that delivery and documentary instructions are followed, and freight is loaded and offloaded in a safe and efficient manner
- Document and rectify or escalate any customer service issues such as damages, shortages, non-conformance to specifications etc
- Ensure to work with / use security measures, procedures and devices as required
- Maintain communication to customers and follow-up of shipment status
- Maintain confidentiality of all Customer, Supplier and Company information
- Participate in training as required and apply knowledge gained through training on the job
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education (Business, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or similar)
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment
Job Knowledge and Skills
- Considerable working knowledge of Microsoft office programs
- Working knowledge of logistics and inventory software
- Working knowledge of over the road (OTR) Logistics
- Knowledge of International Traffic and Logistics (including CTPAT regulations, PIP programs, Environmental Compliance in Transportation and customs requirements
- Knowledge of Ocean container logistics, rules, regulations and INCOTERMS
- Knowledge of common industry software
- Knowledge of WEEE, scrap metal material, processing and packaging an asset
