About the role

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Associate Software Tester to join the Product Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing activities across the full software development lifecycle, from business ask through to production implementation in support of the Member Services strategic initiatives.

Who you'll work with

The Product Engineering team is comprised of software developers and testers operating in several agile delivery squads supporting all Divisions across Teachers’. As part of one of those squads, you will work collaboratively in a cross-functional agile team to bring new features and platform enhancements from conception to release by interacting with product owners, consumers, and external product and delivery teams.

What you'll do

  • Directly participate in requirements gathering, test plan creation, automation of software development, test plan execution, results analysis, root cause identification, AI augmentation and ensuring sufficient code coverage.
  • Address regression failures and investigate production issues.
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of quality standards.
  • Participate in the planning of software development, testing, deployment tasks and maintenance.
  • Develop/communicate personal work plans and task details appropriate for the on-time completion of all work assignments.
  • Maintain currency in technological trends and directions through research/education/self-motivated technology experimentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need

  • Computer Science/Engineering degree or equivalent education.
  • Practical knowledge of standard software development and testing best practices.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, and testing automation tools such as TestNG, JUnit, JMeter, Playwright, and Selenium.
  • Understanding of testing strategies including unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing.
  • Experience with delivery tools such as GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo, Sonar is preferred.
