Location: Haliburton Area

The Supply Secretarial position is responsible for assisting in the Secretarial and Clerical duties of the School Office during an absence or vacancy within the school office.

Assist in supporting Educational and Student Programs. School Office Secretary job tasks include Data Entry, Duplicating, Receiving, Recording of paperwork and Filing. Collect and count money for a variety of school; i.e food days, fundraising etc. Assist with Board Payment Approval Forms, Data entry of Teacher's Budgets', Purchase Orders, preparation of School Accounts, Will distribute incoming mail, parcels and ordered supplies received at the school. Keep and maintain records of the school Petty Cash Fund.

The school Secretary will perform Reception duties, answering internal and external phone calls, greet visitors coming into the school and provide information or direction according to the school (district) guidelines. Assist with the contacting of parents by phone concerning students absenteeism, accidents and illness. Administer medication to students and apply any First Aid as required. The Supply Secretarial positions are on-call and are temporary positions only.

Qualifications Required:

A Secondary School Graduation Diploma plus additional training courses in Computer Operation and software programs. Related Secretarial experience required: a minimum is 6 months. Demonstrated computer knowledge with practical experience on multi-screen database systems, Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Possess excellent confidentiality, discretion, maturity and tact skills. Working knowledge of bookkeeping and budgeting. Self-motivated and an ability to work with minimum supervision. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with community member, parents, staff and student both in person and on the phone is absolutely essential.

Hours of Work: Up to 7 hrs per day Monday to Friday during the school y ear

Rate of Pay: $26.38 per hour up to $29.01 per hour
