**SCHEDULE:**Monday-Friday, typical schedule between 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Flexibility for some work in the evening time is required.

COMPENSATION:$60,673 - $69,659 annually ($29.17 - $33.49 per hour)

ABOUT THE JOB: Are you passionate about connecting great people with meaningful work?

Interior Community Services (ICS) is hiring a new Human Resources Coordinator position focused on recruitment and HR systems, records, and reporting.

As ICS continues to grow, we are expanding our HR team into coordinated roles with clear primary responsibilities. In this position, you will lead recruitment and HR information systems, while a second HR Coordinator focuses on occupational health & safety, benefits, and leave administration. Our coordinators work closely as a team and will be cross-trained to provide coverage and support for each other during vacations, leaves, or peak workload periods.

You will partner with hiring managers and employees across the organization to ensure internal and external hiring processes run smoothly, Collective Agreement requirements are applied consistently, and employee information systems remain accurate and well maintained.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment:

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment: job postings, candidate screening, conducting interviews, and drafting employment agreements
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and guide hiring decisions in compliance with Collective Agreement rules, internal requirements, seniority considerations, and timelines
  • Create a welcoming and positive candidate experience from first contact through onboarding
  • Confirm and trackpre-employment requirements such as reference checks, criminal record checks clearances, driver’s licence requirements and other documentation
  • Support onboarding logistics to ensure new hires feel prepared, informed, and set up for success
  • Promote and coordinate recruitment initiatives such as employee referral programs, job fairs, and Indeed postings and others as applicable.
  • Support job classification processes by collaborating with supervisors and drafting and editing job descriptions.

HR Records:

  • Maintain employee information in HRIS, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
  • Organize personnel files, track and monitor key employment requirements (criminal record checks, job requirements, permits, annual sign-offs, etc.)
  • Track HR data, statistics, metrics, and trends for the annual report.
  • Support compliance with organizational policies, collective agreement, and legal requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and reporting systems

Shared HR Support: As part of a collaborative HR team, you will work closely with the other HR Coordinator and the rest of the HR and Admin team to support shared HR functions and provide coverage when needed.

  • Provide back-up support for benefits administration, leave tracking, or OHS coordination when needed
  • Assist with labour relations administration (meeting coordination, note-taking, grievance tracking, drafting letters etc.)
  • Contribute to HR projects, policy updates, communication and engagement initiatives, and employee committees
  • Assist the administration of employee feedback surveys
  • Assist with taking meeting minutes, distributing agendas, coordinating meeting logistics for leadership teams and the board, as needed.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree (preferred) or Diploma in Human Resources
  • 2 years of experience providing HR coordination support
  • Or a combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience working in a unionized and non-profit organization is an asset
  • Experience using an HRIS is an asset

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with workplace legislation (Workers’ Compensation Act, Employment Standards, Human Rights Code)
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative team player with a detail-oriented approach
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a service mindset
  • Strong decision-making ability and sound judgment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and quick to learn new software
  • Technologically adept with experience in HR software and systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
  • High level of professionalism and strong work ethics
  • Process-oriented with a focus on improving HR operations
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and change

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license (or equivalent) and safe driving record
  • Driving access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Must be able to travel within Kamloops and work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, as needed. Infrequent travel to surrounding communities may be needed for job fairs and employee engagement efforts, but is not a regular job expectation.
  • A clearance through the BC Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General background check is required.
  • Following training is required and provided to the successful candidate free of charge. Existing certification is an asset: Anti-bullying and Harassment, Abuse and Neglect Awareness training, Privacy and Information Sharing, Mandt (R).
