Job Title: Pet Nutrition Technical Quality Specialist
Location: Woodstock, ON
Position Type: Full-Time | Salaried | Exempt (1 Vacancy)
Base Salary Range: $58, 000 - $87,000 based on experience and qualifications

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Pet Nutrition Technical Quality Specialist to support product stewardship activities within our Pet Nutrition business. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant technical and regulatory support for customers and internal stakeholders.
The Technical Quality Specialist works closely with Product Stewardship, Customer Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Quality, and Commercial teams to support customer documentation, regulatory compliance, and new product introductions. This position reports to the Product Steward, Pet Nutrition.
About the Role:
As a Pet Nutrition Technical Quality Specialist, you will provide technical and regulatory execution in support of pet nutrition products. You will be responsible for preparing customer-facing documentation, supporting compliance evaluations, and coordinating cross-functional inputs to ensure products meet internal standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and maintain customer-facing technical and regulatory documentation, including product specifications, compliance summaries, and customer questionnaires.
Support customer documentation requests and respond to technical inquiries under the direction of the Customer Quality Product Steward.
Assist with regulatory compliance evaluations in accordance with FDA, AAFCO, CFIA, USDA, and NASC requirements.
Support new product introductions by coordinating technical inputs, documentation readiness, and compliance alignment.
Collaborate with Regulatory, R&D, Quality, and Commercial teams to ensure technical information is accurate, consistent, and current.
Manage assigned workstreams, including prioritization, tracking, and execution of documentation and compliance activities.
Identify and escalate potential compliance risks, data gaps, or inconsistencies to the Product Steward or Quality leadership.
Support internal alignment discussions and cross-functional coordination to enable compliant execution.
Ensure adherence to company policies, divisional procedures, and established governance related to customer quality and product stewardship.
What You Bring:
Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Strong written communication and documentation skills.
Sound judgment and ability to recognize when to escalate technical or regulatory concerns.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field preferred.
3–5 years of experience in quality, regulatory, technical services, or related roles within food, feed, or pet nutrition industries.
Working knowledge of U.S. pet food regulatory frameworks (FDA, AAFCO) required.
Exposure to CFIA, USDA, and NASC requirements preferred.
