AIR INUIT CORPORATE PROFILE Air Inuit has been providing essential scheduled, chartered, cargo and emergency air transport services to Nunavik and beyond- 24 hours a day, 365 days a year - for over 45 years. Position Overview The cargo office agent greets customers at the Montreal cargo warehouse. He takes care of the preparation of the documents and organizes the cargo shipments for the coming days.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Examine manifests, bills of lading and air waybills to determine work procedures for accepting or releasing cargo;
  • Notify consignee or representative concerning arrival dates of shipment and weight of shipment;
  • Enter transactions for billing to consignee and airline customer prior to release of freight;
  • Authorize final approval for cargo shipments;
  • Prepare invoices for charges, airlines clients and management regarding freight movements;
  • Ensure compliance with Transport Canada and other governmental agencies;
  • Ensure compliance with special cargo including, but no limited to, AVIH, HUM, VAL, etc;
  • Recognize dangerous goods upon receiving;
  • Enter data in cargo software;
  • Prepare and handle all phases of import and export documentation, including but not limited to: calculating freight, storage and other related charges;
  • Prepare documents for the next sector transfer, delivery and other related cargo handling phases such as preparing cargo manifest;
  • Prepare computer manifest and other records (DG, NOTOC and other relevant documents). Check for accuracy and completeness;
  • Prepare air waybills and secure payment from shippers when necessary;
  • Answer client’s queries, tracing actions in a timely manner;
  • Prepare all documents related to the cargo shipments, flight operations, and revenue accounting;
  • Provide customer service for both incoming and outgoing cargo all while delivering an exceptional experience;
  • Carry out any other tasks necessary and required by the company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Ability to communicate in at least 2 of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, English;
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work under pressure;
  • Experience as a cargo agent or cargo handler will be considered an asset;
  • Must be able to obtain a YUL airport RAIC (Secured Zone Access) as well as a D/A (Airside vehicle operator’s permit);
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Excellent aptitude for customer service, communication skills.

Compensation

  • Compensation and benefits are determined in accordance with corporate policy;
  • Annual salary starting at $46,946.
