Purpose:
The Buyer is responsible for providing flawless purchasing execution to achieve optimum inventory levels over assigned portfolio. This person will also ensure that various key stakeholder relationships of both internal and external are maintained in a professional and collaborative manner.

Location: Ontario Medical Supply: Ottawa (1100 Algoma Road, Ottawa, ON K1B 0A3) or Mississauga (2785 Skymark Avenue, Unit 2 Mississauga, ON L4W 4Y3)

Salary: $63,000 - $75,000 per year
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday: 8AM-4:30PM
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies, in support of all OMS locations, that minimizes the total landed cost of goods received.
- Review and optimize Economic Order Quantities and Ordering Cadences to minimize total ordering costs.
- Guide and support activities of the Purchasing team through the introduction of improved ordering processes.
- In collaboration with the Manufacturer Relations (MR) team, negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
- Execution of inventory replenishment activities based on purchasing advice reports.
- Provides support to inter-company flow of materials between warehouses.
- Provide escalation support to invoice discrepancies, returns, short shipments, outstanding purchase orders etc.
- Adherence to Company and Procurement policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:

5 years or more of experience as a buyer or purchasing agent.

Professional Purchasing accreditation is considered a strong asset.

Must be highly organized with an ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities.

Good understanding of supply chain practices.

Solid judgment along with decision making skills.

- Service awareness – exemplary customer service mentality.
- Tenacity – dedication to getting the job done and working through challenges.
