Position Overview
Calian is currently hiring an Information Management Officer to support the Canadian Army Simulation Centre in Kingston. In this role, you will responsible for understanding Canadian Army Doctrine and Training Centre Headquarters (CADTC HQ) IM policies/procedures and subordinate/client requirements, then assessing and designing CASC IM policies, procedures, and products/services to meet those requirements. The immediate focus will be the migration from the Army Common Information Management System (ACIMS) to D365, but CASC IM practices must also incorporate the CA Virtual Training and Experimentation Network (VTEN), as well as tactical communications systems. This position will serve both to oversee CASC’s IM practices and to support the design and delivery of IM training.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain information and records management systems.
- Collect, clean, and analyze data to support operational planning, reporting, and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with organizational data protection, privacy, and records management policies.
- Support knowledge-sharing initiatives and staff training in information management practices.
- Produce dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to enhance situational awareness.
- Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and external stakeholders to standardize data collection and sharing practices.
- Contribute to organizational policy development on data and information management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Library & Information Studies, Computer Science, Data Science, Knowledge Management is preferred; however, any Bachelor’s degree can be considered if there is sufficient experience in the field of IM.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in information management, records management, or knowledge management.
- Certifications such as Certified Information Professional (CIP), Certified Records Manager (CRM), Knowledge Management Certification (CKM), ITIL, or equivalent are assets.
- Experience with collaboration/document management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Documentum, Confluence) and data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau).
- Knowledge of international standards (ISO 15489, FAIR principles, GDPR, or equivalent).
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- Must be able to communicate fluently in the English language.
- French skills are an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Discretion and integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information.
