What You Will Do:
- Overall responsible for the planning, analysis, design, technical specifications and pick lines for all gas main relocation projects and associated work
- The Transit Advisor must also ensure projects are prioritized in a cost-effective manner. Work with municipalities and external agencies to minimize or resolve conflicts and utilize cost sharing opportunities or specified legal framework where potential main relocations are identified
- Design gas main relocation projects that resolve conflicts with proposed transit infrastructure, are feasibly constructible to Enbridge’s design standards, consider future operations and maintenance of the asset, and align with needs of the transit project
- Ensure timely communication of accurate pressure and flow parameters for design, costing and station selection
- Project management responsibilities include completion of pick line, cost estimation, tracking and forecasting for budget accuracy. Maintain Project Lifecycle Gating and Control (PLGC) documents and/or provide input as required
- Serve as a key contact for field staff and is accountable to provide accurate record information, network analysis, customer information, system isolation information and other distribution planning information during system emergencies and provide field support for projects during active construction
- Conduct compression coupling searches and contingency plans as required ensuring construction crews are not working in potentially dangerous situations.
- Coordinate with Finance to invoice construction completed projects to complete project close out activities
Who You Are:
- Project management experience and thorough understanding of utility designs and Planning procedures and policies
- Excellent organizational, analytical, communication and negotiation skills
- Highly effective interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work with diverse groups and individual personalities is required (project team, external partners, customers, suppliers, contractors’ field and management resources)
- Demonstrate effective working relationships with peers and internal/external stakeholders
- 4+ years’ experience in an operations/construction and/or engineering environment
- Thorough knowledge of various computer software programs including MS Office, Microstation and/or AutoCAD
- Thorough knowledge of Planning, Design & Records, Operation & Maintenance, and Construction policies and procedures
- Work experience from any of the following departments: Operations, Construction, station Operations, Customer Connections, Regional Planning
- In depth business, industrial and company knowledge is required to perform design analysis function effectively, recognizing impacts on capital dollars and understanding Codes, Standards and regulations is required
The following will be an asset:
- Working Knowledge with Maximo, e-GIS, Copperleaf, COMMS, and Iviewer
- Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist or equivalent, or Project management certificate/experience
- Successful completion of Pipeline inspection school and/or additional on the job training
Working Conditions:
- This role is comprised of both office and field work (80% and 20%, respectively).
- A valid Ontario G class drivers' license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required.
- Occasional travel within Ontario may be required.
