Hours of work: Primarily evenings/weekends (5-20 hours/week)

Duties:

– Assist with preparation and delivery of lesson plans for a variety of after-school STEM programming (evening and/or weekends).
– Supervise students of different age groups during programming.
– Help cover other programming if instructor is absent.
– Assisting with purchasing of supplies and organization/hauling between locations.
– Light cleaning in the workspace or classrooms.
– Other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

– Skillset: Limited advanced skills and judgment. Ability to work independently and/or with others effectively. Ability to work courteously with the public. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Detail-oriented, punctual and reliable. Interest in or knowledge of a variety of STEM and computer science areas. Familiar with Microsoft Office.
– Education: Preference given to current Brandon University students; either current Brandon University student at second year undergraduate level/standing or student with comparable standing from another post-secondary institution. Strong academic standing.
– Experience: Some advanced training and/or specialized experience (especially in computer science/coding) is an asset. Previous instruction experience is an asset. Previous experience working with children and youth is a strong asset.
– Working Conditions: Work with minimal supervision. Working hours may include day, evening, or weekend shifts as needed. Work indoors and outdoors. Must provide a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and First Aid/CPR Certificate.
