Annual salary: $257,000 - $279,000
Position Highlights
As Vice President, Stations Field Operations, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently executing maintenance,
equipment operations, and capital projects support at over 300 generation, transmission, and distribution stations assets to
ensure reliability and maximize overall asset value.
Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, Operations, you will serve as a key member of the Operations leadership team,
collaborating across business units and business groups to safely and efficiently maintain and operate our generation and
transmission station assets in accordance with mandatory reliability standards and asset management strategies to
maximize overall asset value for BC Hydro.
This large portfolio is comprised of over 600 trades, technical and other professionals, people leaders, and support
employees, located across the province.
Your ability to balance safety, sustainability, and operational priorities will shape the way BC Hydro fosters economic
growth, increases energy supply, and strengthens our power grid across the province.
What you'll do

Provide leadership, direction, and governance across the portfolio.

Lead Multi-disciplinary teams: Oversee a team of more than 600 trades, technical and other professionals, people leaders,
and support employees located across the province.
- Optimize Performance and Efficiency: Identify and implement strategic initiatives to enhance resource utilization, financial
outcomes, and operational success.
- Drive Innovation and Scalable Solutions: Collaborate with groups to apply proactive approaches to execute capital and
maintenance plans and streamline business processes.
- Champion Safety, Sustainability, and Operational Excellence: Ensure plans prioritize worker safety, environmental
stewardship, and industry best practices.
- Build Strategic Partnerships: Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, Indigenous
communities, regulatory bodies, unions, and business leaders.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and adaptation: Inspire and lead a workforce that values collaboration, diverse
perspectives, taking smart business risks, and continuous improvement that aligns with the urgency of our province s
needs.
- Monitor, Report, and Influence Executive Decision-Making: Present business insights to the Operations leadership team,
Executive Team and Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with BC Hydro s overarching corporate strategy.
What you bring
- Proven Leadership: A seasoned strategic business leader with at least 10 years of senior management experience, ideally
within a complex, regulated, and unionized environment.
- Exceptional business acumen: conversant with financial, accounting, marketing and general business management
practices. Bachelor s degree in engineering, finance, business administration, economics, or equivalent.
- Expertise in Large-Scale Utility Operations: Demonstrated success leading large operational teams within a regulated
utility environment.
- Strong Background in Infrastructure Investment & Maintenance: Experience overseeing large capital and maintenance
budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic asset management.
- Safety-First Leadership Mentality: Strong understanding of safety programs and the ability to instill a culture of operational
risk management and compliance.
- Exceptional Communication and Influence: Ability to engage and inspire teams at all levels, from frontline employees and
managers to the Executive Leadership team and Board of Directors.
Demonstrated ability to build strong union relationships and drive cross-functional collaboration.

Ability to lead/coach/mentor senior leaders and technical staff.

Experience leading a team through culture change with a focus on agility, right sizing risk and changing processes to
improve speed of execution keeping safety top of mind.
