TEACHER CONSULTANT - NUMERACY
The Richmond School District is currently seeking a full-time Teacher Consultant - Numeracy to join our Learning Services Department. The Teacher Consultant - Numeracy is a one-year contract but is a continuing contract position with the possibility of renewal.
The Teacher Consultant in the area of Mathematics, Numeracy and Assessment will be required to provide leadership in curriculum, instruction, and professional learning in supporting teachers in a cross curricular focus in Mathematics, Numeracy and Assessment. This includes, but is not limited to, designing, implementing, and leading effective professional learning initiatives related to mathematics, numeracy, assessment and other aspects of the curriculum. The position is an integral part of the district team of coordinators and consultants and may therefore be involved in a wide variety of initiatives aligned or connected to the work of others in the department. All positions within Learning Services engage in supporting the District's Strategic Plan.
Qualifications
experienced teacher with an excellent conceptual understanding and proven working experience with the key concepts, skills, and pedagogy of the Ministry of Education's K to 7 curriculum, including core competencies and with a specialty in mathematics, in their work with students and with teachers proven experience providing leadership of current pedagogy across curricular areas in teaching and learning including the implementation of the Ministry of Education's K to 7 curriculum current and successful leadership experiences in the design and implementation of professional development opportunities for small and large groups in mathematics demonstrated competencies in development and use of proficiency indicators as well as formative and summative assessment practices and differentiated instruction
Candidates will be expected to present a portfolio that demonstrates the required competencies outlined in this position. Preference will be given to the candidate with a master's degree or specialized diploma.
