ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to Program Manager, Department Communications, this position is responsible for the graphic design and updates of communication materials including designing for digital, print media, and new emerging products and services. Works closely with department branches and internal stakeholders to ensure communication products, education materials, reports, presentations, and customer information follow Regional and Department brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Collaborates/works with stakeholders and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function.

Conceptualizes and develops/designs a range of communication products and tools to promote and support program activities.

Provides graphic design expertise to assist stakeholders with design layout and content; supports continuity and consistency of messaging between print media and digital media.

Coordinates the production and printing process of communication materials to ensure timely delivery.

Oversees branding and compliance with Regional branding guidelines and ensures legislated regulations and standards are followed.

Assists internal stakeholders in the creation of digital graphics and works with them to ensure websites are updated accordingly.

Prepares customized documents and reports and/or provides graphic assistance.

Performs other duties, as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in a related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in website management, graphic design, process redesign and communications.
- Demonstrated experience using a wide variety of communication strategies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of traditional and new marketing concepts, communications technologies, printing processes, and graphic design technology.
- Knowledge of relevant Standards, Acts and Regulations.
- Thorough knowledge and demonstrated ability in relevant software and programs.
- Advanced skills MS Office Suite and use of virtual platforms.
- Ability to demonstrate the Region’s core competencies.
- Ability to apply the principles of graphic design and website knowledge to support and enhance marketing initiatives.
- Demonstrated presentation skills to communicate information to diverse audiences and support established project objectives.
