We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Edmonton, AB. The ideal candidate will manage the general ledger, maintain professional relationships with residents and site staff - while reporting to the Finance Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain full cycle accounting records on assigned legal entities
• Perform Full Cycle Accounts Receivable process
• Oversees Accounts Receivables transactions and daily accounting activities (e.g. Deposits).
• Reconciles bank accounts & outstanding payments
• Reconciles intercompany and other general ledger accounts.
• Researches and reconciles all discrepancies.
• Post journal entries and manage general ledgers
• Creates working paper files.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing.
• Responsible for payroll import from UKG and reviews the distribution of payroll costs to appropriate general ledger accounts.
• Reviews accounting documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations and makes or directs correcting entries.
• Assists in developing and maintaining financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Takes initiative by recommending financial process and system improvements.
• Provides timely, accurate reporting to Finance Manager.

• Knowledge of Yardi would be a definite asset
• Experience in property management would be an asset

Knowledge:

• Accounting Certificate or Diploma minimum, equivalent experience will also be considered
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience is required
• Highly skilled in dealing with financial data
• Strong Microsoft Excel spreadsheet analysis abilities
• Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications
