About the role

0.200 FTE English Teacher Salmon Arm Secondary This is a temporary assignment effective immediately to June 30, 2026 or to return of teacher to full contractual FTE whichever comes first. This assignment consists of teaching English First Peoples' 12 and English 10 and is to be worked on Wednesdays

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Education (Secondary emphasis preferred);
  • Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch.

Teachers Applying Should Possess The Following Attributes

  • academic credentials and/or experience in teaching the above subjects;
  • a working knowledge of the current curriculum for English;
  • demonstrated successful experience teaching English at Secondary level;
  • commitment to fostering a collaborative and cooperative working environment;
  • committed to stimulating student interest and confidence in learning;
  • evidence of ability to motivate secondary students;
  • demonstrated use of a variety of instructional and assessment strategies;
  • excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment with other staff members;
  • commitment to involving parents in the learning of their children.
