About the role

Position Summary JOB DESCRIPTION Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Cage or the Supervisor, Slot & Cage, this position is responsible for customer service, cash administration and cash counts while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Handles cash transactions including but not limited to foreign currency exchange, traveler's cheques, short pays, over payments, cash counts, coins and bills

  • Monitors and reports all discrepancies and suspicious cash activities

  • Redeems value chips and gaming tickets for cash

  • Sells racing tickets, vouchers, racing programs and value chips as required

  • Verifies and processes machine fills, machine jackpots, cancelled credits, as well as table fills and credits

  • Issues opening floats to Slot Attendants (or others); reconciles closing floats

  • Transfers and stores floats, keys and record keeping documents

  • Documents and reconciles transactions; may reconcile bank deposits and prepare revenue reports

  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments

  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members

  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

  • organizes and secures storage of count carts, drop boxes, and bill cassettes for count pulls

  • First 3 hours of the shift includes: placement and retrieval of slot machine cash cassettes (plastic boxes (1.5lbs to 5lbs each) that capture money

  • Pulling out of machines and replacing with new empty boxes (1.5lbs each)

  • Counts currency in the count room

  • Bags, bundles, wraps, transports and secures coin currency and bills as per management instructions

  • Reports unsecured and suspect counterfeit cash/cash equivalents

  • Verifies and reconcile drop boxes and cash cassettes before and after counts

Education And Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; post-secondary education an asset
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in high volume cash handling
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to push or pull a cart of up to 100 - 150lbs
  • A working knowledge of computer software and the ability to learn new software and systems

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular casino and cage environment, standing or sitting for long periods of time, non-traditional work hours
