Job Description
The Contract Administrator is responsible for the preparation, negotiation, administration, and monitoring of contracts for goods, services, construction and engineering activities at Magna Mining’s Sudbury operations.
All Magna Mining team members are expected to work collaboratively with others, lead the way in health and safety, act with honesty, integrity, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in pursuit of excellence.
Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts (e.g., service agreements, supply contracts, construction, equipment leases).

Ensure that contract terms align with project scopes, budgets, timelines, and risk management policies.

Participate in contract strategy development with procurement and legal teams.

Works closely with Contract Owners to help organize scopes, agreement terms, key contract information.

Maintain a comprehensive contract database and document management system.

Track key contract milestones, renewal dates, deliverables, and compliance obligations.

Coordinate contract planning, mobilization, execution and close-out activities, ensuring all required approvals and documentation are in place and in accordance with company policies.

Act as the primary point of contact for contract-related queries from internal teams and external contractors.

Collaborate with procurement, operations, engineering, legal, and finance to resolve contract issues.

Supports RFP process,pre-qualification, tendering, and bid evaluation processes.

Organizes contract kickoffs / coordinates stakeholder meetings / prepares handover documentation.

Coordinates routine meetings with vendors.

Identify contractual risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Ensure contracts comply with company policies, industry standards, and relevant legal/regulatory requirements.

Assist in the administration of claims, disputes, and variations.

Monitor supplier and contractor performance against contractual obligations.

Prepare reports and updates for contract status, risk exposure, and financial impacts.

Support audits and internal reviews of contract processes and performance.
Requirements
Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents
- Post secondary education in Business or a related field.
Work Experience: Nature & Length
- 4 or more year of contract management experience in mining or other heavy industry.
Key Competencies: Behaviours & Skills
- Established understanding of commercial contract law and procurement practices.
- Proficient in ERP systems, contract management systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Understanding of the mining life cycle and operational cost drivers.
