- Stakeholder Relations 15: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $65,172 to $86,898 plus a performance-based incentive.

Team Overview
EDC’s Government Relations team acts as the primary liaison between EDC and our shareholder, the Government of Canada. The team leads the corporation’s government and Parliamentary relations activities, including policy development, executive engagement, Parliamentary Affairs, Corporate Planning and the management of the Canada Account.
The Senior Associate will support the work of the advisors and senior advisors on the team, contributing to a number of files in the areas of government relations, including regular reporting to government on EDC business activities, the preparation of responses to Order Paper Questions, support to executive outreach, and responding to questions from the shareholder on a variety of policy areas and topics.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build relationships of trust and manage these with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and government officials, identify and analyze issues affecting EDC, understand how they connect to our activities either immediately or in the future and recommend a course of action to manage or address them.
The team works in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities requiring agility and flexibility. The below gives a sense of role description while the breadth of accountabilities can vary based on an evolving environment.
What you will be doing among other things:

Researches and supports the development, maintenance and implementation policies and programs that enhance the organization's relations with government, Parliament and regulatory authorities.

Leads/co-ordinates the preparation of regular reports and presentations to government, leveraging EDC tools and systems (source internal subject matter experts, ensure accuracy, manage submissions).

Networks and act as a key point-of-contact for consultation with internal and external government stakeholders to develop appropriate options and recommendations on files
-
Identifies, establishes and maintains relationships with assigned representatives in various external government bodies to facilitate the management of assigned issues or policy development and to promote EDC strategic interests

Supports plans for executive engagement with government and political stakeholders.

Responds to inquiries from government representatives about the organization and its activities.
What we are looking for:

Completed an Undergraduate Degree in Business or Public Administration or Political Science, or in a related field
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in public policy, international trade, international affairs and/or stakeholder relations, or related experience
-
Knowledge of EDC solutions and strategic direction
-
Comfortable working cross functionally and with various levels of leadership.

Strong writing and communication skills.

Experience in project management and attention to detail.
-
Proven ability to manage fast-paced projects and multiple priorities.
What will make you stand out:

Data analysis skills and knowledge of organizational and external data systems (i.e. MBC, C3, Power BI, Excel)

Experience working with or for the Government of Canada in the areas of Trade, Innovation, or economic development.

Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)
-
Experience working in Parliamentary Affairs with or for the House of Commons or a provincial/territorial legislature.
