Sensity has an exciting opportunity for a new position to join our team in Pa****ris, ON. The Housekeeping & Maintenance Assistant supports the upkeep and cleanliness of facilities by performing routine maintenance tasks and housekeeping duties. This role ensures a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for staff, residents, and visitors. This position offers flexibility for start and end time.

Key Activities:

Housekeeping Duties:

  • Clean and sanitize rooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Dust, vacuum, mop, and polish surfaces in all common areas and offices.
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towel, and cleaning products.
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables properly.
  • Deep cleaning of Sensity’s apartments when required.
  • Report any cleanliness or sanitation issues to supervisors.
  • Clean windows in all common areas and individual apartments when required.
  • Performs housekeeping, cleaning, janitorial tasks and activities maintaining cleanliness and safety.
  • Annual vehicle deep cleaning.

Maintenance Duties:

  • Perform minor repairs (e.g., replacing light bulbs)..
  • Monitor and report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
  • Help with seasonal tasks such as snow removal or landscaping and weeding of common gardens.
  • Support setup and teardown for events or room changes.
  • Assist staff with repairs and upkeep.
  • Performs other duties, as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or maintenance is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and maintenance tools.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable using MS Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently, and follow specific instructions.
  • Adaptable and flexible with an ability to respond to changing work priorities, high volume requests, pressures and demands.
  • Deal professionally and tactfully with clients/staff/contractors.
  • This position requires a valid driver's license Class G, access to a reliable vehicle, a clean current driver's abstract and the ability to obtain automobile insurance with a minimum liability of $2 million.

Working Environment and Demands

  • The position is performed both in office and residential apartment settings.
  • Occasional requirement for simultaneous multiple urgent demands, regular interruption.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, odours, possible hazardous substances or equipment.
  • Regular travel within Brantford / Brant County city limits, with the occasional need to travel outside of city limits.
  • Sustained requirement for manual dexterity / coordination for use of hand tools and cleaning equipment, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Salaried permanent position based on 40 hours / week, Monday to Friday, with occasional requirement to work outside of regular business hours.

Other:

  • Employment is conditional upon receipt of a successful Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Excellent communication skills for both verbally and written of the English language.
