Job Description

Engineering Infrastructure and Services (EIS) exists to accelerate program launch and boost execution efficiency by continuously evolving our engineering tools, practices, and talent. You will partner directly with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams on initiatives such as embedding AI, Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Digital Engineering into everyday workflows, turning tactical activities into strategic advantage. In this role you will be reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Engineering Support Services.

Strategic Transformation & Execution

  • Partner with senior engineering leadership to define, prioritize, and measure improvement objectives aligned with corporate strategy. Translate high-level business goals into actionable roadmaps for tooling, practices, and AI adoption, ensuring measurable impact across programs and functions.

Digital, AI & Tool Modernization

  • Lead the assessment, selection, and rollout of next-generation engineering tools (e.g., MBSE, digital twins, AI-assisted design), leveraging evolving and cloud-based services to modernize workflows. Drive deployment of Generative AI and predictive analytics into engineering processes to enhance productivity, insight, and execution quality.

Talent Development & Enablement

  • Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing, multidisciplinary team focused on engineering excellence while fostering a culture of continuous learning. Design and launch a scalable engineering training approach—blending existing offerings and learning—to accelerate adoption of new tools and practices. Track competency growth and adjust curricula to evolving technology trends.

Insights, Influence & Operational Excellence

  • Foster the use of business analytics to surface insights, predict bottlenecks, and inform strategic decisions. Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms to keep programs, senior management, and functional teams informed. Articulate initiative goals, progress, and outcomes to executives and cross-functional stakeholders, serving as the trusted liaison between EIS and the broader organization. Support key accreditation efforts (CMMC, AS9100, CPCSC) by embedding required practices and processes into everyday work.

Qualifications

You will be successful in this role if you describe yourself as having:

  • 3+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role
  • Track record of partnering with senior leadership to drive process and technology change
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - able to translate technical concepts for senior executives and diverse functional audience
  • Disciplined approach to engineering, with knowledge of agile and/or iterative development methods
  • Ability to synthesis of complex and competing needs into clear direction
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, JIRA/RTC, Confluence, PDMLink, Business Intelligence (Power BI)
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical/scientific area. Candidates with diplomas will be considered with adequate additional experience

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

Additional Information

The hiring salary range for this position is $122,000 to $152,500 CAD per annum. This role is eligible for a management incentive plan.
