About the role
Bridgewater Bank is entering a pivotal stage in its growth as a national financial institution. Backed by the strength and stability of the Alberta Motor Association (AMA), the Bank combines the security, infrastructure, and advanced capabilities of a large parent organization with the entrepreneurial spirit and agility of a fast-growing niche lender. With more than $3.3 billion in mortgages and deposits under management, and a distinctive presence in alternative lending, Bridgewater has built a reputation for helping more Canadians achieve homeownership through innovative products, trusted partnerships, and a client-first approach.
The Vice President, IT & Transformation will play a central role in shaping this future. Reporting to the President and collaborating closely with AMA’s Chief Transformation Officer, this leader will take ownership of a multi-year digital roadmap—overseeing the delivery of new programs and an evolution of the organization’s IT function. The mandate is clear: execute on this strategy with discipline, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with measurable business outcomes.
In addition, the Vice President will be charged with strengthening the IT & Transformation team—23 professionals across operations, data, delivery, and special projects. The incoming leader will quickly evaluate capabilities, refine structure, and foster a culture that balances accountability and performance with curiosity, adaptability, and innovation.
This opportunity calls for a seasoned technology executive who combines strategic foresight with hands-on execution. The successful candidate will be an inspirational yet humble leader, capable of bridging the gap between technology and business, building trust with executives, regulators, vendors, and partners, and thriving in a values-driven, high-engagement culture. Based in Calgary—one of Canada’s fastest-growing and most liveable cities—this is a rare opportunity to drive meaningful transformation within a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, leaving a lasting imprint on the Bank’s growth, its people, and the clients it proudly serves across Canada.
