The Pod Group is partnering with this amazing organization to place a resourceful, hands-on, and organized individual to fulfill the role of Manager, Accounting and Finance.

As the Manager, Accounting and Finance, you will play a vital role in supporting the organization's financial activities and processes, overseeing the day-to-day operations and financial statements. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT🎯

  • Manages and oversees all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial processing.
  • Provide supervision and support to the Finance Coordinator.
  • Maintains the organization’s financial records and accounting systems, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal controls, and nonprofit financial management practices.
  • Oversees bi-weekly payroll processing, payroll remittances, and benefits administration in collaboration with the Finance Coordinator, ensuring compliance with employment standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports, including regular monthly financials.
  • Monitor fundraising procedures, including billing and receipting of donations, and reconcile monthly activity (e.g., petty cash).
  • In partnership with the Director of Finance, perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Support the annual audit process, preparing documentation and all auditor-requested working papers, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Participates in annual agency budget preparation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING🎓

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit in a finance leadership role.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in full-cycle accounting and finance leadership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work well in a consultative, team-oriented environment. Exceptional personal interaction skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer applications, including MS Office applications.
  • Excellent time-management skills. Flexible work hours are required.
