About the role
Urban Life Solutions is currently accepting applications for Full-Time Snow Removal Labourers and Wheel Loader Operators to join our Snow Removal & Maintenance division in Ottawa. Under the direction of the Crew Lead and Site Superintendent, this position will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including the removal of snow on roads, sidewalks and shared public areas for industrial, municipal, residential and, commercial properties, while providing exceptional customer service at all times.
This is a seasonal position from December 15, 2025, to March 15, 2026, with potential opportunities for continued employment.
Responsibilities
Demonstrating safety leadership and safe work practices at all times
Working in accordance with Urban Life Solutions policies and procedures
Providing exceptional customer service and client experiences
Snow removal using a wheel loader
Some manual snow removal
Additional tasks as required
Basic/Required Qualifications
Minimum High School Diploma
Valid Driver’s License with proof of driver’s abstract
Minimum 2 years experience removing snow using loader
Working knowledge of the use of common hand and power tools relative to snow removal
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain simple records and make verbal reports
Exceptional customer service skills
Physically fit
Must have reliable transportation to and from our building and/or work sites
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to take direction, learn and work independently as well as part of a team
Previous snow removal and/or maintenance experience is an asset
Ability and ideally enjoys to work in a physical role for hours at a time
Operation of small engine equipment
Experience operating snow removal equipment or similar
Experience working in a physical labour position
Experience working outdoors
Motivated, energetic team player
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Able to perform moderate to heavy intensive tasks for extended periods of time in a variety of outdoor environments
Working in outdoor environments with the ability to withstand cold temperatures
Significant standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling
Repetitive motions
Ability to regularly lift, carry, push and/or pull weights of up to 100 lbs
On-call work: hours of work will vary throughout the winter months
