Enterprise Architect (RQ00277) Province of New Brunswick | Place 2000, Fredericton, New Brunswick (Onsite)

About The Role We are looking for a highly skilled Enterprise Architect to establish comprehensive governance frameworks and strategic roadmaps for EECD's IT transformation. Our ideal candidate excels at delivering governance structures, architecture documentation repositories, standards, blueprints, technology roadmaps, application portfolio assessments, process improvements, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication plans. They will lead EECD from current state assessment through future state visioning, gap analysis, and multi-year implementation planning to align IT architecture with provincial business objectives.
This onsite role at Place 2000 in Fredericton requires collaboration with GNB Enterprise Architecture Program, business units, IT teams, and executives to streamline application portfolios, document standards, and drive continuous architectural improvement across all domains—business, data, application, and technology.
Key Deliverables
Governance Framework
- Define roles/responsibilities for architectural decision-making and standards enforcement.
- Establish decision-making processes, approval workflows, escalation paths.
- Create monitoring/reporting mechanisms and continuous improvement guidelines.
Architecture Documentation Repository
- Build centralized digital platform for architecture documents.
- Define documentation standards, version control, access/security controls.
Architecture Standards & Best Practices
- Document standards in collaboration with GNB Enterprise Architecture Program.
- Develop compliance checklists, training workshops for IT teams/stakeholders.
Enterprise Architecture Blueprint
- Current state assessment across business/data/application/technology domains.
- Future state vision with gap analysis and recommendations.
Technology Roadmap
- Short-term (6-12 months) and long-term multi-year implementation plans.
- Resource/budget estimates, risks, mitigation strategies aligned with business goals.
Application Portfolio Assessment
- Complete application inventory with functionality, technology, dependencies.
- Redundancy analysis, rationalization recommendations, lifecycle management guidelines.
Business Process Improvement Plan
- Current process mapping identifying inefficiencies/bottlenecks.
- Technology recommendations (automation, analytics, AI), implementation roadmap.
- Change management strategy for smooth adoption.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation Plan
- Identify architectural risks (obsolescence, integration, security, compliance).
- Risk analysis, mitigation strategies, ongoing monitoring with key indicators.
Stakeholder Communication Plan
- Tailored communication strategies for executives, IT teams, business units.
- Define channels, key messages, feedback mechanisms for alignment.
