Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Security Guard to join our team at 33 Mercer Street, Toronto, ON. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about safety, customer service, and operational excellence.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Perform routine property patrols in accordance with site instructions.

• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and deportment.

• Monitor and operate video surveillance systems.

• Respond to emergencies and alarms.

• Liaise with Police, Fire, and EMS during emergency situations or incidents.

• Ensure adherence to the Post Orders and CGL Policies & Procedures.

• Handle confidential information with a high level of discretion.

• Greet guests, open doors, and monitor guest behaviour - including intoxicated individuals, and ensure adherence to dress code.

• Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions with clients, visitors, and team members.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the client or Regional Manager

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma

• Mandatory: Ontario Security Guard License

• Mandatory: Valid First Aid and CPR certificate

• Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time

• Ability to complete frequent patrols

• Familiarity with building safety protocols and facility operations.

• Understanding of escalation procedures and incident response.

• Fluent in English (spoken and written); French language skills considered an asset.

• Excellent customer service skills
