We are accepting applications for two (2) permanent full-time Asset Management Specialists to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, Engineering Services, the primary responsibilities of this role include:
Supporting the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the CVRD’s Asset Management Program.
Coordinating and maintaining asset inventories, condition assessments, and asset performance data across a variety of service areas.
Supporting operational teams in the development of strategic, tactical and annual asset management and capital work plans.
Assisting with lifecycle planning activities including asset acquisition, maintenance, renewal and disposal.
Monitoring and analyzing asset performance information to support evidence-based decision making and long-term service sustainability.
Supporting the development of maintenance strategies, workflows, procedures and technology initiatives related to asset management systems and maintenance management systems.
Preparing asset management reports, performance measures and supporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborating with operational staff, supervisors, managers and the corporate asset management function to align operational activities with organizational asset management objectives.
Our ideal candidate is:
Collaborative, analytical and highly organized, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, finance or a related field with over three and up to four years of directly related experience in asset management or the operation and maintenance of water, wastewater, solid waste or recreation infrastructure and facilities.
Demonstrated ability to support asset lifecycle planning, maintenance strategies, and data-driven decision making in a public sector or infrastructure environment.
Knowledgeable in asset lifecycle management principles and asset management frameworks such as ISO 55000.
Skilled at interpreting complex data, identifying trends and preparing clear, concise reports and recommendations.
Comfortable working with asset management information systems (AMIS), computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
Able to manage multiple priorities, coordinate projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
A strong communicator who can convey technical information clearly to a variety of audiences.
Asset management certifications such as CAMP or CAMA are considered an asset.
A valid BC Class 5 driver’s license is required for this role. Successful candidates will be required to consent to a Canadian Criminal Record Check.
This is a CUPE Local 556 position with a current wage rate of $47.08 per hour.
