Position Overview The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing the plant's quality assurance and quality control systems to ensure all precast concrete products meet CPCQA requirements, internal quality standards, and applicable industry specifications. The role manages inspection and testing procedures, maintains certification compliance, and collaborates closely with production and management teams to maintain consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities Quality Program Management
- Maintain and administer the CPCQA quality management system.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with CSA A23.2 standards and applicable certification requirements.
Quality Control Operations
- Manage plant-level quality control procedures for all precast concrete products.
- Coordinate and conduct inspections, testing activities, and product verification.
- Ensure materials, production methods, and finished products meet required standards and specifications.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and testing documentation.
- Prepare documentation and support plant readiness for CPCQA audits and inspections.
Team Leadership
- Train and supervise quality control personnel.
- Provide guidance to production teams on quality procedures and standards.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and compliance.
- Work with plant leadership and project teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure quality operations comply with plant safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in precast concrete manufacturing or construction materials.
- Strong knowledge of CSA A23.2 standards and related certification requirements.
- Experience managing quality control programs in manufacturing or precast environments.
- Understanding of concrete mix design, testing procedures, and production processes.
- Experience conducting quality inspections, audits, and maintaining documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with production teams and management.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPCQA certification or experience working in a CPCQA-certified plant.
- Background in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Materials Engineering.
- Experience with structural precast products and infrastructure-related projects.
- ACI or PCI Level 1 and Level 2 certification.
