##About Us

TagsForHope is one of the only pet product manufacturers in Canada. While most brands outsource overseas, we design and build everything right here in St. Thomas, Ontario, premium dog collars, leashes, harnesses, bandanas, and ID tags, all made in-house by our own team.

We've built this company on two things: quality craftsmanship and a mission that matters. A good portion of our profits go directly to supporting animal rescue organizations across North America. We've been doing this for over 12 years, and we are growing.

We're looking for a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our team and play a hands-on role in building, maintaining, and improving the equipment that powers our production floor.

##The Role

This is a unique opportunity for a licensed electrician who wants to do more than just maintenance. You'll be responsible for keeping our existing production equipment running smoothly, but you'll also be involved in building and wiring new machines, designing control panels, and ensuring everything meets CSA codes and standards so it passes field evaluation (SPE-1000) on the first try.

You'll work closely with our production and operations team to solve problems, improve processes, and help us scale. If you enjoy variety in your day and want to see the direct impact of your work on a growing business, this is the place for you.

##What You'll Do

  • Install, wire, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial manufacturing equipment including laser cutters, sewing machines, robotic arms, industrial robotics, and a wide variety of automation and production machinery, we bring in new equipment regularly
  • Build and wire industrial control panels to CSA standards, selecting approved components and ensuring code-compliant construction
  • Prepare equipment for field evaluation (SPE-1000), coordinating with inspection agencies and ensuring all documentation, labelling, and wiring is inspection-ready
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production equipment to minimize downtime
  • Read, interpret, and create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Maintain proper grounding, bonding, overcurrent protection, and safety systems across all equipment
  • Support facility electrical needs including lighting, power distribution, and service upgrades
  • Work with outside contractors and inspection agencies (eSAFE, Intertek, CSA) as needed

##What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Valid 442A (Industrial Electrician) or 309A (Construction & Maintenance Electrician) Certificate of Qualification — Ontario
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on industrial electrical experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and CSA standards
  • Experience building or modifying industrial control panels
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own projects
  • Valid G class driver's license

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
  • Experience with industrial robotics and automation systems
  • Familiarity with field evaluation processes (SPE-1000) or experience working in a CSA-certified panel shop
  • Experience with VFDs (variable frequency drives) and motor controls
  • Background in manufacturing environments (textile, packaging, automotive, food, or similar)
  • Ability to produce electrical schematics and documentation

##What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly rate of $36–$44/hour based on your experience and qualifications
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and more
  • Stable, full-time daytime hours, no shift work, no nights, with only occasional weekend maintenance as needed
  • A clean, modern manufacturing facility
  • A small, close-knit team where your work makes a visible difference every day
  • The chance to build things from the ground up, not just maintain them
  • A company with a genuine mission, support animal rescue across North America
  • Room to grow as the company continues to expand
