Position Overview

TAC Sports is seeking a full-time Bike & Adventure Camp Instructor to work with 3.5 to 5-aged children in a dynamic, active program that combines biking instruction with adventure-based camp activities. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with young children, enjoys being outdoors, and is passionate about building confidence, coordination, and physical literacy through movement and play.

This position is split approximately Half day biking programs and Half day adventure camp programming, offering variety, creativity, and meaningful impact in a supportive, community-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Bike Program Instruction (Approximately 50%)

  • Lead age-appropriate bike instruction sessions for JK/SK participants
  • Teach foundational biking skills including balance, starting, stopping, steering, and bike safety
  • Ensure proper helmet use and safe riding practices at all times
  • Set up, inspect, and maintain bikes and biking equipment

Adventure Camp Programming (Approximately 50%)

  • Lead and support adventure-based camp activities such as obstacle courses, games, nature exploration, and group challenges
  • Create a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment that encourages participation and teamwork
  • Supervise children during all camp activities to ensure safety and positive behavior
  • Assist with daily camp setup, cleanup, and transitions

General Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and TAC Sports staff
  • Adapt instruction to accommodate different abilities, confidence levels, and learning styles
  • Follow TAC Sports’ program curriculum, safety protocols, and child supervision standards
  • Model enthusiasm, patience, and professionalism at all times

Qualifications

  • Experience working with JK/SK-aged children in camps, recreation, education, or sports programs
  • Comfortable riding a bike and teaching beginner-level biking skills
  • Energetic, patient, and confident leading groups of young children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work outdoors and remain active throughout the day
  • Background in early childhood education, recreation, kinesiology, or sports instruction is an asset
  • First Aid/CPR and Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain) preferred
