Position Overview
Tract is seeking a results-oriented Senior Project Manager, Energy Development to join our growing Energy team. This is a high-impact execution role supporting the SVP of Energy Development across a growing portfolio of energy development projects. Reporting directly to the SVP, this individual will drive execution across multiple parallel workstreams while improving the speed, rigor, and consistency with which projects advance.
The successful candidate will coordinate complex internal and external activities across permitting, interconnection, fuels and related infrastructure, stakeholder engagement, development planning, commercial progression, and financing alignment. This role is responsible for advancing projects on scope, schedule, and risk while improving visibility across active workstreams and preparing decision-quality materials for executive leadership.
Because this is a rapidly growing function supporting an expanding portfolio, the ideal candidate is comfortable shifting between strategic planning and hands-on project execution in an entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities
● Support multiple concurrent energy development projects from early-stage screening through key commercial and development milestones. ● Build and maintain integrated project schedules, milestone trackers, action-item logs, and look-ahead plans. ● Coordinate workstreams across Engineering, Land Strategy, Environmental, Legal, Finance, Tax, Construction, External Affairs, consultants, utilities, regulators, and commercial partners. ● Track critical path activities, project dependencies, key decisions, and risks while proactively escalating issues requiring resolution. ● Support development planning across permitting, interconnection, fuels and related infrastructure, stakeholder engagement, contract progression, and financing readiness. ● Manage recurring project operating rhythms, including agendas, meeting materials, meeting notes, follow-up actions, and portfolio reporting. ● Prepare executive-ready project summaries, decision memos, briefing materials, stage-gate documentation, and risk registers. ● Support the SVP of Energy Development with internal approval packages, management presentations, and go/no-go recommendations. ● Coordinate external consultants and development partners, including scope management, schedule tracking, deliverables, and issue resolution. ● Help ensure technical scope, commercial terms, stakeholder commitments, and financing considerations remain aligned throughout project development. ● Support meetings with utilities, government agencies, regulators, landowners, fuel counterparties, community stakeholders, and other external partners. ● Maintain project documentation, development records, and document control to support continuity and informed decision-making. ● Help develop standardized project controls, reporting tools, operating procedures, and best practices that support long-term growth of the Energy Development function.
Minimum Qualifications
Education ● Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Business, Finance, Environmental Studies, Construction Management, Economics, or a related discipline.
Experience
● 7-12 years of experience in energy project development, energy infrastructure, power project management, utility-scale project execution, or a related field. ● Demonstrated experience supporting or advancing complex energy or infrastructure projects across multiple concurrent workstreams. ● Strong understanding of the energy development lifecycle, including permitting, interconnection, stakeholder coordination, commercial processes, contract management, and development-stage decision making. ● Proven success coordinating internal teams and external partners to advance projects on scope, schedule, and risk. ● Experience developing and maintaining project schedules, risk registers, action logs, and executive reporting materials. ● Ability to translate technical, commercial, and project information into actionable recommendations for executives, investors, or Board members. ● Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments while maintaining ownership, urgency, and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with grid-connected generation, battery storage, behind-the-meter power, thermal generation, fuel cells, microgrids, or similar energy technologies. ● Familiarity with utility and ISO/RTO interconnection processes and regulatory frameworks. ● Exposure to project economics, development budgets, financing, and financeability considerations. ● Experience working with utilities, regulators, landowners, consultants, public agencies, and community stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. ● Proficiency with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Primavera, Excel, and document management platforms. ● Experience preparing due diligence reports, development summaries, and executive decision materials.
Desired Skills
● Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to coordinate technical, commercial, legal, and executive stakeholders. ● Ability to transition seamlessly between detailed project execution and executive-level communication. ● Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. ● Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy. ● Self-starter capable of working independently while collaborating effectively across teams. ● Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and drive accountability without direct authority.
Travel
Regular travel to the Denver headquarters, project sites, and meetings with utilities, regulators, consultants, local authorities, and other stakeholders. Travel requirements will vary based on project needs.
Compensation
Annual Base Salary: $130,000-$165,000 Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus.
