Job Description:

Department Overview:

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: This role is responsible for executing the sales and support model for their market. They lead and coaching a team of Account Managers, Small Business, and key resources in the retail. The role proactively champions both the sales effectiveness and sales management of Small Business Banking enabling the delivery of Business Banking products and services across the whole spectrum of customer needs as well as supporting other business partners. The role supports its team by developing and strengthening sales skills, promoting the sales process, improving product knowledge for sales and service teams as well as enhancing Small Business Banking Credit Acumen. This role is also responsible for business development internally/externally and maintaining relationships with centers of influence.

BREADTH & DEPTH: Lead and manage a team of Account Managers, Small Business while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goal and achieve business results Ability to present and make recommendations to internal and external partners Ensure an integrated approach with other business areas, broader organization, and / or enterprise as appropriate Coordinates and prioritizes multiple sales initiatives and manages resource allocation Establishes effective relationships with different stakeholders, business sponsors, executives and LOB Deep knowledge and understanding of businesses / technology, and organizational practices/ disciplines Advanced knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to Small Business Banking Play a leadership role in enhancing Small Business Banking credit acumen with roles across Commercial Banking and Branch Banking Generally reports to a Senior Manager, Small Business Banking.

Job Description:

CUSTOMER: Provide teams with the product knowledge and conversation skills to have effective Small Business Banking advice conversations Support teams to ensure customer problems are handled effectively, using customer problem resolution guidelines; participate in the analysis and resolution discussions, as needed Lead and coach on advice giving strategies to improve the overall Small Business Banking customer experience Ensure a coordinated banking presence in the market approach across TD business partners Work collaboratively with TD Partners to ensure all customers' needs are met

SHAREHOLDER: Contribute to the development and implementation of sales strategies to achieve business objectives, sale goals and referrals to increase profitability and enable business growth

  • Develop a productive relationship with external COIs as means to identify new business opportunities.

Manage the market to ensure the proper sales support and development of new and existing business relationships within the community

  • Implement business strategy within assigned territory, working closely with internal bank partners to meet business objectives
  • Contribute to business objectives for Operational Excellence
  • Proactively identify process and product opportunities, research and recommend enhancements / modifications, develop strategies to achieve recommendations
  • Follow and ensure employees understand and apply bank operating policies and procedures
  • Protect the interests of the organization identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary

• Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, support the changes to regulatory requirements and ensuring communication to teams

  • Ensure employees are knowledgeable; and assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct

EMPLOYEE / TEAM: Responsible for management of the overall team providing both leadership and guidance

  • Manage to targets and objectives for the team, and deliver results that have been set
  • Grow team expertise to align with business/enterprise demand and direction; assess team skills and capabilities and continually look for ways to provide and enhance the value delivered
  • Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and related tools, and techniques to continuously develop personal knowledge

Lead a high performing team; provide on-going feedback and performance reviews, coach and develop employees and ensure performance management activities are undertaken and completed for all employees

  • Manage performance objectives for the team; track, monitor and effectively address and/or reward performance in a timely manner
  • Manage employees in compliance with all human resources policies, procedures and guidelines of conduct
  • Share knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team and ensure the timely communication of issues and encourage good working relationships with other functions and teams

• Support an environment where team freely escalates business challenges; facilitate change through positive reinforcement of milestones and successes

  • Recruit for all hires to ensure a highly diverse, qualified workforce to achieve business objectives
  • Establish and foster a cohesive team; promote a fair and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce and encourage the team to achieve common goals and objectives
  • Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate and/or
  • 7+ years of work experience
