Key Responsibilities:

Research & Development Support:

• Assist in the preparation and execution of new product development trials.
• Drive new product development initiatives from formulation through to commercialization.
• Lead and support R&D projects tied to customized cannabis products.
• Document product formulations, test batches, and trial results, and shelf life with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Provide feedback on product performance, consistency, and quality during R&D testing.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by collecting data and identifying opportunities for optimization.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.

Sample Management:

• Prepare product samples for QA, or third-party labs.
• Ensure all samples are labelled, tracked, and stored in compliance with company SOPs and regulatory standards.
• Work with QA to submit samples for testing and ensure proper chain-of-custody documentation.
• Maintain an organized log of all outgoing and incoming samples, including results and feedback.

Compliance and Quality:

• Adhere to Health Canada cannabis regulations and GPP.
• Support QA with gathering documentation and ensuring testing requirements are met for product release.
• Ensure accurate and compliant reporting of test results and data collection.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate closely with Operations, commercial teams, procurement, and QA to align R&D activities with broader business strategies.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth handoff between departments.
• Present findings regularly to key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years experience in cannabis, food production, research and development, or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of cannabis regulations and testing requirements is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work and Outlook) is an asset.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
• Adaptability to shifting priorities in a fast-growing industry.
• Commitment to confidentiality and compliance.
