About the role

JOB DESCRIPTION

AAA Canada is looking for someone who will be Responsible for successful planning of programs and overall support of related manufacturing, modification, and engineering activities from launch to completion. Develops, implements, and improves processes for efficient, cost effective and timely completion of fabrication/assembly/install projects. The Planner will report to the Program Manager

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and implement processes to expedite fabrication/install/assembly for proper manufacturing and timely delivery.
  • Analyze, understand, and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints and schematics and coordinate with operations and engineering personnel to resolve issues and expedite.
  • Identify tooling and materials required to complete the manufacturing and assembly of items from engineering drawings and other source data and coordinate required and timely purchases, in conjunction with project planning timelines.
  • Develop tooling/support equipment required to fabricate or install items when required.
  • Develop flat patterns and other shop data when required for manufacturing based on engineering models/drawings.
  • Develop inspection aids to expedite the fabrication and install acceptance process.
  • Support continuous process improvement lean initiatives to promote and drive process efficiencies across manufacturing and modification programs.
  • Support quality and safety requirements in identifying and ensuring conformance.
  • Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce and eliminate non-conformances.
  • Communicate and coordinate efforts between manufacturing, modification, and engineering teams.
  • Generate routine work cards and manufacture job cards.
  • Create and issue appropriate work packages for work to be carried out and distribute work packages as per project plan to project team.
  • Ensure risks to planned completion schedules are known and mitigation plans established.
  • Work with the project expeditor to ensure adequate material, shop supplies and tooling are available to complete projects.
  • Analyze requests for maintenance/repair and determine validity, content, and scope of request.

Skills and qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft manufacturing, component manufacturing and modifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering r related technical degree combined with 5 years equivalent manufacturing engineering work experience.
  • Interpret and verify drawings and other engineering documents.
  • Experienced with modification of aircraft systems / components, preliminary design reviews (PDR) and critical design reviews (CDR).
