We are recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing organization within the software and technology sector, based in the Greater Toronto Area. Operating as part of a larger, highly successful global software portfolio, the company is backed by significant financial stability and a long-term ownership model — offering the agility of a mid-sized organization with the strength and resources of one of the world's most successful software acquirers.
They are seeking a progressive Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment, supporting a newly acquired business and its ongoing reporting infrastructure. This is a high-visibility role ideal for a candidate bringing strong financial reporting experience and technical depth to lead complex financial disclosures, covenant reporting, and lender relationships while ensuring full compliance with IFRS standards, within a team known for excellent leadership and a genuine commitment to developing talent.
Key responsibilities and oversight
Own financial reporting for a newly acquired business, ensuring IFRS compliance and accuracy across all disclosures. Manage preparation and review of periodic financial statements and variance analysis. Lead detailed revenue recognition analysis under IFRS 15, including project and software-contract accounting. Serve as a key point of contact for lender reporting — including covenant monitoring, compliance certificates, and quarterly bank engagement. Collaborate with external auditors and internal teams to manage the year-end audit process end to end. Develop and refine financial reporting procedures and controls for enhanced accuracy and efficiency. Support strategic reporting initiatives and contribute to broader financial system improvements. Address complex technical accounting issues with a focus on IFRS standards and best practices.
The organization offers a competitive compensation package including an attractive base salary and annual performance bonus. Full compensation details will be provided to candidates under consideration.
The successful candidate will possess the following
CPA designation with 7+ years of progressive financial reporting experience — either in industry or from an audit/assurance background — preferably with exposure to the tech or software sector. Big 4 audit experience is strongly preferred. Proven people management experience, with the flexibility to operate as an individual contributor initially and the readiness to take on team leadership as reporting structures are established. Deep technical knowledge of IFRS standards, including revenue recognition, and financial disclosure requirements. Experience with debt covenant reporting and lender relationships considered a strong asset. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities. Ability to thrive in a progressive, innovative, and growth-oriented environment.
