Job Description
The Business Development Manager, International Tactical Communications and Information Systems (TacCIS) will be responsible for business strategic planning, direction and development of existing business opportunities, and leading new strategic initiatives to ensure long term sustainable growth. This position will own the end-to-end growth pipeline for a defined geographic region and will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and securing new contracts while deepening relationships with existing programs. They will lead at the convergence of market intelligence, solution selling, customer relationships and partnership development. Success is measured by revenue growth, win-rate against strategic targets, and the expansion of the TacCIS ecosystem of channel and technology partners.
Market & Opportunity Analysis
Conduct continuous market size, trend, and competitor analysis. Build and maintain a strategic opportunity pipeline. Identify emerging defence budget programs, procurement cycles, and policy shifts that create new addressable opportunities. Developing business cases and strategic plans for each pursuit or capture activity; strategic importance/relevance to GDMS-I, price to win analysis, teaming recommendations and expansion plans.
Partner and Ecosystem Development
Building and maintaining a strong network with Government, OEMs, and industrial colleagues. Leverage intel, industry events to generate high quality leads. Identify, evaluate, and onboard strategic channel partners (System Integrators, manufacturing, OEMs, local distributors). Collaboration with partners/subcontractors, providing joint value propositions and joint marketing. Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of potential partners and competitors for collaboration and /or competition.
Cross Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the Solution Architect, Product Line Management Team, and engineering to craft value-based proposals that map TacCIS capabilities to customer mission objectives. Work closely with Product Management on roadmap prioritization based on market feedback.
Brand and Thought Leadership
Planning and representing International TacCIS at Industry Conferences, trade shows, press releases, brochures, briefings and technical symposiums. Publish White Papers, case studies, and briefings that showcase TacCIS impact on mission success.
Negotiations and Deal Closure
Conduct negotiations with customers (including Senior Government), partners and corporate stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, International Relations, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Strong understanding of the Land C5ISR market. Experience in a Defence related industrial sector (technical, project management, or marketing/business development) with a successful track record of sales in markets with a long sales cycle. Experience with international defense sales, knowledge and track record of working procurement processes throughout the world. It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
Additional Information
The hiring range for this position is $140,000-$165,000. This position is also eligible for a management incentive plan. Our goal is to provide a fair and competitive offer based on an assessment of internal equity and your qualifications, including:
