Job Title: Senior Backend Developer Analyst (.NET / SQL Server / Azure)) Job Type: 3 to 6-month Contract (Potential for Permanent) Start Date: ASAP Location: 222 Bay Street, Toronto, ON (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) Hours: 40 hours per week Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Pay Rate: $53.00/hr T4 OR $65.00/ hour Inc.
Overview Our client is seeking a Senior Backend Developer Analyst to support a large-scale application modernization initiative. This senior-level consultant will design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise business applications while improving backend integrations, data architecture, API development, and SQL Server performance. The successful candidate will work across legal, finance, document management, and operational platforms, helping modernize enterprise applications through Microsoft technologies and Azure cloud services.
Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise backend applications using C#, .NET, and SQL Server. Build integrations between iManage, SharePoint, Intapp, Elite, and other enterprise platforms. Develop REST APIs, web services, and middleware solutions. Design and optimize SQL databases, stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions. Develop ETL processes supporting reporting and operational workflows. Perform SQL performance tuning and database optimization. Troubleshoot production issues and conduct root cause analysis. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions. Support Azure cloud modernization initiatives. Participate in Azure DevOps, CI/CD, release management, and code reviews. Produce technical documentation and implementation standards.
Required Skills 7+ years of backend application development. Advanced SQL Server experience including: T-SQL Stored Procedures Functions Views Triggers Query Optimization Performance Tuning Data Modeling Strong Microsoft development experience: C# .NET Framework .NET Core ASP.NET REST API Development Azure experience including: Azure App Services Azure Functions Azure SQL Database Logic Apps Service Bus (preferred) Azure DevOps & Git CI/CD Pipelines Enterprise application integration experience Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Experience working within enterprise or regulated environments Excellent communication skills
